In this issue, we get the final, fatal, and tragic end to his family's story. It’s almost Shakespearean in nature. Part of me would have wanted these first few issues to be focused on that time period only, to get a richer and fuller world centered around those that brought him to life, so that the end to their story would have been more impactful, but we get more than enough to go on that informs us of who he is now and why he wants to die.
This issue once again is bloody as hell, but I find myself becoming desensitized to it. Maybe that’s why this issue didn’t hit my emotional center as much as I may have wanted it to. I’m ready for the next big push forward in the story which sounds like it’s coming soon . . . based on the final few pages. I feel like the story may be about to open itself up, and with how exciting and intriguing it has been, I can’t wait to see what the central story is will look like going forward.
