Fanboy Comics Interviews Drones Creators and Cast - #6 of 6
Looking to start the new year with a laugh? You will not want to miss Drones, a hilarious new film that places the fate of the world on one man: Brian Dilks. Complacent in an office job, joking with his best friend, Clark, and harmlessly flirting with fellow cubicle-mate, Amy, Brian’s world changes when he discovers an improbably (and otherworldly) secret about Clark. Drones features a fantastic cast, including Jonathan M. Woodward (Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Angela Bettis (Dexter, May), Samm Levine (Thrilling Adventure Hour, Inglourius Basterds), and James Urbaniak (The Venture Brothers, Thrilling Adventure Hour).
Drones was written by Thrilling Adventure Hour co-creators Ben Acker and Ben Blacker, and it was co-directed by Thrilling alums Amber Benson and Adam Busch, who are also know for their roles on the hit TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The film was an Official Selection of Slamdance 2010 and features a soundtrack created by Jonathan Dinerstein, Dan Bern, and Busch’s band, Common Rotation.
Drones co-directors Benson and Busch, as well as co-star Samm Levine, chatted with Fanboy Comics President Bryant Dillon at Studio City comic book store ComicSmash to discuss the inspirations for the film, the creators who made the project possible, and where you can find a copy of the film!
This interview was conducted on Monday, December 19, 2011.
