For the latest edition of Geeks Care, the Fanbase Press staff would like to once again highlight the generous efforts of Jason Inman and Ashley V. Robinson as they endeavor to send 15,000 comic books to troops overseas by November 30, 2019, in collaboration with Operation Gratitude and Collector's Paradise. Dubbed as the Jawiin Comic Drive (and celebrating its 5th year), Inman and Robinson are hoping to share the gift of geekiness with troops overseas to give them a fun reminder of home. Both new and gently used comic books are being accepted (intended for PG-13 audiences at the most extreme), and directions for how to donate the books are listed below. We hope that you will join us in giving back to those who serve our country!
The steps for donating your comic books to the Jawiin Comic Drive are fast and easy:
1) Please fill out this donation form for each box of comics that you are donating. Put “Jawiin Comic Drive for Service Members” in the Product Donation Information section. Print and include the form inside of each box.
2) Box and ship the comics to:
Operation Gratitude
21100 Lassen Street
Chatsworth, CA 91311
3) Send a picture of your comics and the number of books you are donating to jawiincomicdrive (at) gmail (dot) com. Please note that if you don’t send the number of comic books that you are donating to the email, they will have an inaccurate count.
4) If you're local to the Los Angeles area, there are also nearby dropoff centers (and you can join the campaign kickoff event at Collector's Paradise North Hollywood on Sunday, November 10):
-
Collector’s Paradise Pasadena: 319 S Arroyo Pkwy. #4, Pasadena, CA 91105
-
Collector’s Paradise Winnetka: 7131 Winnetka Ave., Winnetka, CA 91306
-
Collector’s Paradise North Hollywood: 5118 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood, CA 91601
It's as easy as that! Let's join together to show our troops how much we appreciate them!
If you have a volunteer opportunity or an important cause that could use the assistance of a few geeks, please email the details to barbra (at) fanbasepress (dot) com.
