Geeks Care: How You Can Help Hands4Hope LA

When Fanboy Comics is not providing you with the latest in geek news and entertainment, the FBC staff hopes to offer our readers a myriad of opportunities to give back to the community. We love reading comics, watching movies, and playing video games, but we are never happier than when we are able to help others in need. With Geeks Care: How You Can Help, FBC will provide you a variety of causes that would greatly appreciate your time.

This week's edition of Geeks Care: How You Can Help will be a special treat for all of the fanboys and fangirls living in the Southern California area who are eager to soak up the early Spring weather this weekend. On Saturday, March 14, 2015, the 15th Annual Starlight Jazz Serenade will showcase another outstanding lineup of incredible, award-winning jazz musicians and entertainers. Two shows featuring various artists at each performance will begin at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Harmony Gold Theater in the Heart of Hollywood, CA.  Sponsored by Budget Rent A Car, Daniel’s Jewelers, The Federal Bar, and U.S. Bank each year, the proceeds of the Starlight Jazz Serenade will benefit the North Hollywood-based Hands4Hope LA, a free and safe after-school environment filled with support, academics, music, art, dance, healthy food, and activities!

The Annual Starlight Jazz Serenade is a musical extravaganza that strikes a chord in the community to encourage participation and contribution. This fundraising concert gathers jazz lovers, professional musicians, and celebrities together to celebrate and support the academic, athletic, artistic, and social enrichment programs provided by Hands4Hope LA for at-risk youth.

Hands4Hope LA provides vulnerable families with youth ages 8+ from predominantly low-income, minority, single-parent households with the no-cost after-school programs that extend the school day with enrichment programs that help these children and their families prosper.

Readers interested in learning more about Hands4Hope LA may visit the official website., which provides opportunities for direct donation, as well as ways to get involved by volunteering your time.  In addition, seating for the Starlight Jazz Serenade is limited, so be sure to purchase your tickets today!
